Day No. 15: The Most Western Westerner

Read story

Travelling from Lisbon I headed West to the most Western point in Europe, Cabo da Roca on the coast of Portugal.  The seaside is a mixture of sand beaches and rocky cliffs as high as 100 meters, which can only mean one thing – amazing views! Climbing up along the coast I was looking for for a good photo and decided to cross over the tourist barrier to the edge of the cliff (as you do) to enjoy the landscape out of the way of all the tourists.

While sitting here, to my right I noticed a 5 euro note that had been folded in half and I can only presume placed in the shrubs for the next person to sit on the edge of the cliff to find… You know what they say, those who don’t take risks, don’t drink champagne!

I can presume that at this moment in time I was the most Western westerner and so was that 5 Euro note, which I still have today, framed and with my girlfriend as a little memento from the trip.
